2008 AAADAC Summer School Banquet Awards to be presented on 6/11/08 (See attached form for application) Qualifications: Newcomer of the Year Award: Must be a person with less than two (2) years experience in the field of substance abuse counseling Has demonstrated an exemplary work ethic and provided quality treatment to persons served Has maintained positive peer relationships with fellow staff. Demonstrates a sincere desire to learn and master treatment techniques. Has participated in a significant amount of formal and in-service training. Has demonstrated humility and strength of character. Must be a member of the AAADAC Years of Outstanding Service Award: Must be a person who has more than twenty (20) years of experience in the field of substance abuse counseling Must be a CADC, ACADC, LADAC, or AADAC in good standing Has demonstrated an exemplary work ethic and provided quality treatment to persons served A positive role model for fellow professionals in the field of substance abuse counseling Has maintained positive relationships with fellow staff, colleagues in the field of substance abuse counseling and other behavioral healthcare professionals. Demonstrates significant mastery over a range of counseling techniques and serves as a mentor to fellow counselors Must have served as a teacher/trainer in the field of substance abuse treatment Has demonstrated humility and strength of character. Must be a member of the AAADAC |

Qualifications: Counselor of the Year Award: Must be a person who has more than five (5) years experience in the field of substance abuse counseling Must be a CADC, ACADC, LADAC, or AADAC in good standing Has demonstrated an exemplary work ethic and provided quality treatment to persons served Has maintained positive relationships with fellow staff and professional colleagues Demonstrates significant mastery over a range of counseling techniques Has demonstrated humility and strength of character Must be a member of the AAADAC Charles Robert Sarver Memorial Award: Must be a person who has demonstrated significant contributions to the field of substance abuse treatment over a period of ten (10) years or more. Has served on local, regional and state Boards/Associations and Initiatives to promote the field of substance abuse treatment. Has demonstrated experience in mentoring substance abuse counselors. Has demonstrated leadership in promoting the cause of substance abuse services and ethical treatment of clients Has demonstrated personal sacrifice and selflessness in promoting the field of substance abuse treatment. Has demonstrated humility and strength of character. Demonstrates a sincere love for others with special compassion for the person with chemical dependency. Must be a member of AAADAC |
